New standalone FPS “Escape From Tarkov Arena” coming to PC

On Friday, Battlestate Games, the developers behind the hugely successful Escape From Tarkov, shared a teaser trailer for a new standalone first-person shooter game coming to PC. Acting as a spin-off to Escape From Tarkov, Escape from Tarkov Arena will play very much like the existing Escape from Tarkov game and will feature all the well known and loved mechanics from the original.

However, rather than Escape from Tarkov Arena focusing on extraction and looting, the game’s focus will be on gladiatorial type combat. These “games” will happen in arenas scatted throughout the city of Tarkov.

Escape From Tarkov Arena will also include the ability for players to play as their main character and support various PvP and PvE game modes. Battlestate also announced that Escape from Tarkov Arena would be available at no extra cost for all players who own the Edge of Darkness pack.

Players who don’t own the pricy pack will be able to pick up the game separately, and because it’s a standalone game, players won’t need to pick up the main game to play.

While no release date has been announced yet, players can look forward to more information around the time of closed testing, which should start sometime in Quarter 3 of 2022.
