I hate this keyboard; I hate this keyboard because it’s such a nice keyboard. I hate this keyboard because I use my PC for more than just gaming and because this keyboard is only a 60%-er, I lose out on quite a few keys that I use pretty often, but I love using this keyboard. If I was just gaming, then I would have no issue completely ditching my massive, 100%, full key, Numpad deluxe, because when I game with the SK622, I can feel the difference. My movement felt snappier and more responsive like I was Spiderman slinging webs in every which way to get where I wanted to be and because my desk had a bit more space, it felt like my mouse had a little more room to breathe as well. Not that I don’t have a giant, 3-meter table already.

Off the bat, I already thought I wouldn’t enjoy this keyboard, one, as mentioned above, was because I lose out on a lot of the keys that I use for my everyday work and two, this one came with them blue clicky clickies. Using the keyboard over the past few days though has proven me very wrong. Although I do miss my Numpad, very much so, I find typing on the smaller keyboard to be a lot quicker and more satisfying than before and I got used to the size of it quickly. What made a big difference in the way this keyboard works though, are the low-profile keycaps. My fingers seamlessly glide from key to key when typing, nothing gets in my way and I feel like Stella Pajunas, ready to bang out 216 WPM.

The blue switches are actually more satisfying than I expected them to be as well. Perhaps, if I was in a work environment where there were a few more people around, I could see them as being quite obnoxious, but when it’s just me, slapping away at the keyboard, it’s ASMR for the fingers. Nine times out of ten I have my headphones on anyway, so it’s not like they’re always tick-ticking in my ears. They aren’t that loud. The switches can be swapped out though, so if Blue isn’t your thing, it’s no train smash.

On the bat, I really enjoy this keyboard. I enjoy how it looks at my desk, I enjoy how it sounds when I type, I enjoy how it feels when I play games. I’d be willing to go out and get one of those silly little Numpad keyboards that I could push to the side, just to keep using this keyboard on the daily.

To sweeten the pot, the SK622 comes with a boatload of features, it’s a hybrid wired/Bluetooth keyboard, and if you haven’t recently discovered the magic of wireless, be forewarned; it’s amazing. The keyboard can also be connected to 3 different Bluetooth masters, that can be hot-swapped between with a simple macro keypress, meaning you can move from your gaming PC to your media PC in the lounge with ease. It has a decent array of RGB colour scenes to choose from and it’s Windows, Linux, and Mac compatible. Although the outer shell is mostly plastic, the keyboard feels very premium, it’s got a nice heft to it. It comes with a USB-C cable for charging and for using in its wired form, and, in Cooler Master fashion, it has a sleek, suede carry pouch, so you can always keep your SK622 on you. #handbagfriendly

BOTTOM LINE
I’m not saying it would be hell to move back to my old keyboard, I love that girl. But I will definitely miss the summer holiday I had with the SK622.
