I might be a little new to the world of mechanical keyboards, I never really fell for the hype of it all way back when and then kind of just used what I had laying around, which turned out to be a semi-mechanical hoozi-whatsit and it did the job just fine to be honest.

But then, some South African Santa decided to drop this mechanical gift at my doorstep. The Redragon Ratri Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. It has RGB for the keys and an RGB strip along the border of the keyboard for some extra gaming oomph. There are about 1.3 billion different lighting modes (actually only 21) and you can customize them if you put in the effort to. You could spend 15 days trying to figure out the keyboard shortcuts or download one of the other Redragon keyboard software suites to prettify the keyboard, I went with the K592 since the Ratri is the K595. You can also switch profiles and make a few custom macros in the software.

The Ratri comes standard with black Redragon silent switches, which I find great to type on. They have a nice amount of tactile feedback and pushback, and they just make the typing experience a lot of fun. As for gaming, I’m still getting the hang of it, but because I use my PC for both work and play, I think I’m going to stick with these key switches. If you don’t like them though, you could always swap them out. #mechanicalmization?

Overall, this keyboard is awesome, it’s got a premium feel to it, it’s fully loaded with all the keys (my preferred set up), and it’s got all the RGB I could dream of. It’s well worth the price it comes in at, go get one.
