And I am here for it. A mother-daughter assassin team is out for revenge in upcoming action film Gunpowder Milkshake. Fair warning, there is some egregious damage to books in this trailer, but no damage to puppies.
Gunpowder Milkshake follows professional hitwoman Sam, played by Karen Gillan (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), who goes rogue after rescuing a young girl during a high-stakes job and must then enlist the help of her assassin friends and estranged also-assassin mom, played by Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), to fight a war against those that have done them wrong.
This is giving off some serious John Wick vibes with the splashes of neon, secret assassin society, and mass kill-orders being put on the badass protagonist, but with less rain and puppy murder. Looks like fun.
The rest of the impressive cast includes Carla Gugino (Watchmen), Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Angela Bassett (Black Panther), Paul Giamatti (Billions), and Chloe Coleman (Upload).
Gunpowder Milkshake is coming to US Netflix on 14 July, but only to cinemas in most of the rest of the world. It’s unclear if SA Netflix will get it too. I’m sure they’ll tell us at some point. If all else fails, there’s always the VPN.
