Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness due to infect Netflix in July

We’ve been hearing bits and pieces about Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness since September last year, but this is the first proper trailer for the animated Netflix series.

Set about two years after the events of Resident Evil 4, Infinite Darkness is a CG anime drama series that follows fan-favourites Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they investigate a hacking incident at the White House and, instead of the usual leaked nudes, they encounter some zombies that very much suggest another t-Virus outbreak is underway. Unfortunately, nobody wants to talk about it, for governmental stability reasons. But the zombie rats will not be silenced. Nor will that guy that looks like The Green Knight.

The series is directed by Eiichiro Hasumi and comes with both an English and Japanese voice cast, including Nick Apostolides/Toshiyuki Morikawa as Leon and Stephanie Panisello/Yūko Kaida as Claire. Also, the CG animation doesn’t look terrible, so that’s nice.

If animation isn’t your thing, there’s also a live-action, Wesker-centric Resident Evil series in the works for Netflix, but we don’t know much about that one, yet.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness premieres on Netflix on 8 July.
