For the anthro fans amongst you.
Based on the DC Comics series of the same name, Sweet Tooth takes place in a virus-riddled, post-apocalyptic America filled with animal-human hybrids. However, nobody knows if the virus caused the hybrids or the hybrids caused the virus, so violent prejudice ensues – humanity’s default reaction to scary things that we cannot explain.
The story revolves around a hybrid deer-boy who must leave the secluded safety of his forest home to evade capture by hunters, and find answers to all the things, with the help of a wandering loner named Jeppard. However, it’s tricky knowing who to trust and the post-apocalypse has empathy at an all time low.
The series is executive produced by Susan Downey & Robert Downey Jr. and the cast includes Christian Convery (Playing with Fire), Nonso Anozie (Zoo), Stefania LaVie Owen (Messiah), and Aliza Vellani (The Twilight Zone [2020]). With narration by James Brolin.
Not a catgirl in sight, so far, but you just know they’re in there somewhere. Looking forward to this one.
Sweet Tooth premieres on Netflix on 4 June.
