The South African Football Association has announced the SAFA eCup online championships, the local qualifying event for the FIFAe Nations Cup 2021.
Hosted by Mettlestate on 15 and 16 April, the SAFA eCup contenders include Mzansi FIFA heroes Kaylan “KaylanYT” Moodley, Julio “TheBeastBianchi” Bianchi, and Thabo “Yvng Savage” Moloi. The two winners of this event, plus one reserve player each, will join the eNational Squad to represent South Africa in the FIFAe Nations Cup 2021.
“For every gamer, it’s always a privilege and an honour to be given the opportunity to represent your country on the world stage,” says Mettlestate director Barry Louzada. “It gives a great sense of validation for all the hours spent gaming. When your nation recognises you for gaming, it’s a surreal experience.”
Registration for the SAFA eCup is limited to ranked players, aged 16+, who are South African citizens. A registration link wasn’t available at publish time, but you can expect updates on Mettlestate, SAFA, and Ediski and their respective social media channels soon.
