Plagued by delays, allegations of chaotic management, and high-level resignations, Techland has been having a rough time since they announced Dying Light 2 (potentially prematurely) back in 2018, but a recent update suggests they’re on track for a 2021 release. Maybe?
The sequel to 2015’s zombie survival RPG Dying Light was originally meant to launch in 2020, but that didn’t happen, much like a lot of things didn’t happen in 2020. However, a recent update, mostly consisting of the game devs reading mean tweets but also a little gameplay, suggests we could be getting Dying Light 2 this year. If a vague suggestion at the end of the video means anything.
They got shouted at and now the game is about to come out. Coincidence? Entitled Twitter raging totally works, you guys.
Set 15 years after the original game, with an entirely new protagonist, Dying Light 2 is meant to be bigger, deeper, and more involved than its predecessor, featuring consequences for your actions and maximum parkour. Traverse The City via grappling hook and paraglider, helping factions of fellow survivors against the zombie hordes that mostly turn hyper-aggressive at night, mostly. You can’t make everyone happy, though, so make good choices. Now with added crafting.
Dying Light 2 is coming to PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
