The Magnificent Trufflepigs is a narrative, romance, exploration game, developed by Thunkd and published by AMC Games, in which you play as Adam (voiced by Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill), who has returned to his childhood village to search its bucolic setting for the other half of a pair of earrings. As you wander the rolling hills with your metal detector, you’ll be chatting, and sharing your finds, with Beth (voiced by Luci Fish) via walkie-talkie. Beth found the first earring many years ago and now she’s searching for its match.
But Beth’s hiding something and it’s up to you to choose the right words to wrangle the full story out of her. Unravel the mystery before the farm is demolished by an energy company and, perhaps, you will find more than some ancient earring, perhaps you’ll find… yourself. Or love? Probably love.
Seems similar to the rather exceptional Firewatch, which also involved nature, radios, mystery, and emotions.
Perhaps you were the treasure all along.
The Magnificent Trufflepigs is due to release on PC and Nintendo Switch some time around June/July.
