It’s called a Wandering Ancient, for copyright reasons, but it’s still an Ent, and it’s free if you own the Shadowlands expansion.
Blizzard held a community poll last year to choose a new mount to be added to World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, and the Wandering Ancient, a giant, lumbering, sentient tree, won. Now, that arboreal ambler has been added to the game, free for anyone with the Shadowlands expansion to claim. This includes people that buy the expansion in the future.
The Wandering Ancient came out on top against a magical flying book, a giant spider, a chonky caterpillar, and a sticky saber cat (yes). Similar creatures have been trundling around Azeroth, wild and free, since the game’s launch and I guess a lot of players have been wondering what it would be like to ride one, so here we are. Who cares how ancient and wise they’re meant to be, you ride that big ol’ colour-changing tree. No news on whether they can be set on fire or not.
Have fun, WoW fans, all your cities are about to be overrun with greenery.
