Season Two of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has begun and you know what that means – MOAR ZOMBIES.
We’ve seen plenty of zombies in CoD before, but this time it’s different. Black Ops Cold War: Outbreak is an open-world zombie experience, in which your squad (or just you) must explore the vast expanse of Russia’s Ural Mountains, complete a variety of objectives, and survive the undead hordes, all in the name of science. Take as much time as you need, there’s no countdown and no designated path to victory.
Complete your objectives and you will be rewarded with a heap of XP and some Aetherium Crystals you can use to upgrade your Skills. Two new types of Aetherium Crystals (Refined and Flawless) will let you upgrade those Skills to tier IV and V respectively. To get the more mature crystals, you’re going to have to do more extensive (i.e. more dangerous) research. Rewards are saved for each completed objective, but fail an objective and you will fail the mission.

If this all makes you want to give Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War a go, Outbreak and Multiplayer will be free to play from 20:00 SAST today, 25 February, until 4 March at 20:00 SAST. You can find it on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
