Apex Legends gets its Nintendo Switch gameplay reveal

Apex Legends is coming to the Nintendo Switch next month and, now, we’ve gotten our first look at the gameplay, revealed during the February 2021 Nintendo Direct livestream event.

The game obviously runs at a lower resolution than on other platforms, but it really doesn’t look that bad.

Switch players will receive an exclusive, legendary-tier Pathfinder skin (not shown here) and 30 free Season 8 Battle Pass levels. They’ll also earn double XP for the first two weeks after the Switch launch. Apex is currently in the third week of Season 8, so the free boosts mean that Switch players won’t have to feel like they are lagging behind. More so than usual, I mean.

Will the addition of the Switch into the crossplay mix increase server volatility? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Although, the slow-mo servers are kind of fun, in their own way.

Apex Legends is free to play on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch (from 9 March), with crossplay enabled for all platforms. Cross-progression will be added in a future update.
