In this week’s edition of Is This Déjà Vu or What, CD Projekt Red’s “internal systems” have been compromised, with the hackers now holding the data to ransom like it’s a bad 80s movie.
The studio has confirmed that it’s “taking the necessary steps to mitigate the consequences” of the breach, which according to the hacker’s cringecore readme file includes source code for Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3 (plus an “unreleased version of the same game), and Gwent, and some presumably confidential company documents.
If we will not come to an agreement, then your source codes will be sold or leaked online and your documents will be sent to our contacts in gaming journalism. Your public image will go down the shitter even more and people will see how you shitty [sic] your company functions. Investors will lose trust in your company and the stuck will dive even lower!
The hacker’s demands or what exactly constitutes “an agreement” aren’t immediately obvious (first time extortion for this guy or what?), but CD Projekt Red isn’t complying anyway.

I guess we’ll find out more in 48 hours. Or not.
