Making excuses about “loss of generation capacity” like it even matters anymore, South Africa’s Voted Worst Since 2005 utility company has announced that stage 2 loadshedding starts today and ends on Sunday.
According to Eskom’s post on Twitter, multiple units at the Kusile, Kriel, and Duvha stations have failed because, you know, reasons. For now, loadshedding is expected to conclude at 23:00 on Sunday, but “the system remains vulnerable and unpredictable”, so maybe it won’t. Decide who gets to eat who first before it’s awkward.

For residents of Cape Town, who occasionally enjoy (?) a reduced level of loadshedding, the local municipality has not confirmed at publish time whether this questionable convenience applies.
