CD Projekt Red has revealed the game’s global launch times and when it’s going to be available to start pre-loading on every platform, but get ready for an absolutely chonking 43.5GB (!) update too – and maybe one extra update on top.
For gamers in South Africa, the digital version of Cyberpunk 2077 unlocks at exactly midnight local time on console, and 02:00 on PC next week Thursday, 10 December.
The wait is almost over!

Pre-load opened up on Xbox last night at 18:00 local time already, with a reported download size of 59.5GB and total install size of about 72GB. But a number of gamers also subsequently posted screenshots like this one on Twitter.

Except it gets even more complicated. Responding to the screenshot above, CDPR developer Fabian Döhla implies that some other, different update is scheduled in time for launch. Or, I dunno, whatever that means, but since the actual next-gen version of the game isn’t out until next year, it’s probably not that.
It’s an update but – fun twist – not the update we’ll have for launch. 😅
