Spellbreak, the battle royale with a magical twist, recently got an update that adds team deathmatch and debuts the Chapter system.
Prologue: The Gathering Storm is currently live in Spellbreak and one of the main new features is the Clash game mode. In Clash, two teams of nine players battle each other in a race to earn points by exiling their opponents. When you are exiled, you keep all your gear, but drop a copy for others to loot. You’ll then be respawned nearby with full health, armour, and two armour shards. Otherwise, there’s still an ever-closing circle to avoid, gear to gather, and skills to level, like in regular Battle Royale. Although Duos has been disabled.
Then, Spellbreak is introducing a Chapter system which is like a Battle Pass, but with new content and story progression delivered weekly, over 12 weeks. Earn Reputation by playing the game and completing quests. Reputation unlocks Gold and a range of cosmetic rewards as you ascend through 25 levels. The Prologue Chapter is free for everyone, but expect that to change with future Chapters. For more details on how the Chapter system works, check out the official Reddit post.
The Prologue update also includes Hollowed Eve cosmetics and a range of bug fixes and gameplay adjustments. Check out the official patch notes for more details.
Spellbreak is free to play on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
