Sea of Thieves Dogs

Sea of Thieves has dogs now, so 2020 is looking up

And not just salty sea dogs, actual (digital) dogs. Also, a whole bunch of other things less important than dogs.

The Sea of Thieves – Vault of the Ancients content update is live and, amongst other cool things like new Treasure Vault Voyages, an enchanted compass, and piles of new loot, you can now buy dogs from the Pirate Emporium – dogs!

You’ve got three breeds to choose from (Alsation, Inu, and Whippet) and you can pimp your pooch with Kraken, Bilge Rat, or Sovereign outfits so they’re fully-accessorised for all your piratical adventures together. Pirate Legends and Champions of Athena’s Fortune will get access to fancy legendary outfits as well.

If you’re not into dogs (because you have no soul) the main event in Vault of the Ancients revolves around piecing together torn map fragments in order to track down hidden Vault Keys. Once found, you can return the Vault Keys to the Gold Hoarders or The Reaper’s Bones for a fine reward OR loot the Treasure Vaults yourself, because you’re a pirate and that’s pretty much your main life-goal. Each key opens a specific Treasure Vault, but you’ll only have a limited time to grab as much gold as you can carry, find the Vault Medallions, and solve the puzzles that reveal the Chest of Ancient Tributes – where the serious loot is stored.

Take too long and the Vault doors will slam shut, consigning you to the Ferry of the Damned.
