And you know what, I’m kind of bummed (lol) that Tushy’s “ask me about my butthole” tee didn’t make it, but 2020 has been a series of fails so I guess this is one more for the list.
Let’s rewind. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is Mediatonic’s hot new battle royale game that the kids are talking about on socials but I haven’t even played because I broke my hand and haven’t been playing games for, like, six weeks now (that’s also on the 2020 fails list). Like Fortnite in 2017, the game has been an instant megahit, clocking a server-busting 1.5 million players on its 3 August launch day, and over five million more players since.
Two weeks back, the studio started a charity campaign for Special Effect, a UK org that works with accessibility solutions for disabled gamers. Potential donors, including corporate brands and scene celebrities, were tossed into a sort of marketing battle royale for the big prize – a custom cosmetic item in the game. Like, you know, this “ask me about my butthole” tee.
Don’t count us out. We see that $420,069…and raise 69 cents. $420,069.69 and a Peach Guy pic.twitter.com/irzvVx9rvW

“Your generosity will enable us to continue making gaming dreams come true for people with physical disabilities around the world,” Special Effect gushed in response, adding that the cash would be “invaluable in making up our funding shortfall due to COVID-19”.
