Call of Duty: Modern Warfare taking up too much space? Delete some of it

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare isn’t exactly easy on the storage space, taking up almost 200GB regardless of the platform your prefer, but Activision Support recently revealed how to free up a bit more space on your console by deleting certain portions of the game that you don’t need.

According to a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare support forum post, you can delete certain parts of Modern Warfare in order to free up some space on your console’s hard drive. You can do this without affecting your ability to play other parts of the game; just launch Modern Warfare, head over to Options, find the General tab, and then scroll to the bottom for Game Installs.

Here’s the list of installs you can remove and what you need them for:

  • Data Pack 1 – required for access to Campaign, Multiplayer, and Spec Ops
  • Campaign Pack 1 (Xbox One only) – required to play Campaign
  • Campaign Pack 2 (Xbox One only) – required to play Campaign
  • Multiplayer Pack (Xbox One only) – required to play Multiplayer
  • Multiplayer Pack 2 – required to play Multiplayer
  • Special Ops Pack – required to play Special Ops
  • Special Ops Pack 2 – required to play Special Ops
  • Survival Pack (PlayStation 4 only) – required to play Special Ops Survival

Done with the campaign? Get rid of it. Don’t care about multiplayer? Cut it out. If you ever want anything back, you just have to download it again through the Store.
