It’s the sort of commitment to realism that you really expect from a fighting game series largely associated with laughable boob physics.
A recent update (1.20) to the PlayStation 4 version of Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo’s Dead or Alive 6 has introduced a fun microtransaction so that it now costs one Premium Ticket (equivalent to about $1 real money) whenever you want to change your fighter’s hair colour. For clarification, you don’t unlock the hair colour for future, frivolous, use, you pay actual money every time you want to change it (even if you’re changing back to the default) – just like real life!
Sure, it’s just hair colour, you don’t have to change it, but this is some next-level nonsense. Oh, if you lose your save data, that hair colour you bought disappears, too, because that information isn’t tied to the servers like the costumes are. Also, the minimum number of Premium Tickets you can purchase at a time is two.
According to Team Ninja, this “feature” (which they have confirmed is not a bug) will not be coming to Xbox One or to PC (where modders have already implemented free hair colour changes anyway).
Oh no… why…
