Blizzard will gladly obey.
Warcraft III: Reforged launched last week and Blizzard has received so many complaints about it that they’re offering a streamlined refund process for anyone who is unhappy with their purchase.
What’s so wrong with the game that it has people threatening legal action? Mostly the problem is the difference between what Blizzard promised and what it delivered. Aside from the graphics upgrade, Reforged was meant to have a revamped user interface, more dynamic cut scenes, new dialogue, and story tweaks, but it seems like much of that was abandoned.
Take this example from part of the campaign called The Culling. These screen grabs are from the same point in the dialogue:

You can find the full scene promised by Blizzard here, and the in-game result, here. You’ll notice that the “ART AND EFFECTS NOT FINAL” warning in the trailer only displays for the in-game elements and not the cinematic bits.
Also, classic Warcraft III got merged with Reforged, making it impossible to play without the new client, even if you don’t own Reforged. This wouldn’t have been so bad if Reforged hadn’t brought a bunch of instability with it. If you liked competitive ladders, cross-region play, clans, and owning your custom games, amongst other things, that functionality is gone now, too, because Reforged can’t do that right now – sorry?
Blizzard has responded by apologising and letting everyone know that they intend to release a whole bunch of patches, starting this week, to address as many of the issues as they can. If you don’t want to wait for all that, you can attempt an automatic refund instead.
