Xbox is testing a random game recommendation feature to help you decide what to play next

Every gamer has a backlog – a museum of shame and existential entropy, its exhibits once glittering with impulse-purchase hype, now forsaken and unloved. One of them is probably (maybe, definitely) Skyrim, and you’re totally going to play it, for reals, but you want to finish this other game, and also this one other game, but not now because what about this other game and so what, you’re loading up Netflix because choices are hard.

Available now via the Xbox Insider preview program, a new “surprise me” button has been added to the My Games & Apps dashboard. If you click the button, Xbox conveniently suggests a random game from your library. It won’t suggest a complementary wine to go with it, however, but one thing at a time and besides, it’s summer so obviously it’s chenin blanc.

The game won’t launch automatically, though, so you can keep clicking the button until it suggests something you’re actually going to play. Not Skyrim, you can play that tomorrow.
