Microsoft HoloLen 2 fail

Microsoft’s HoloLens 2 Apollo moon landing tech demo fails to launch live on stage at the Build conference, lol

The company opened its annual Build developer conference in Seattle this week with a razzle-dazzle presentation of the HoloLens 2 augmented reality headset, featuring Industrial Light and Magic’s John Knoll and Andrew Chaikan, space historian and author of A Man on the Moon. The demo was supposed to recreate the Apollo 11 mission, but… things didn’t exactly go according to plan. More like Apollo 1, amirite?

“Well, it seems doing a live demo is actually harder than landing on the moon,” says Chaikan. Or a rehearsal, I guess, because that one totally worked.

Awkward.
