Divinity: Fallen Heroes is a tactical RPG coming soon from Larian Studios in partnership with Logic Artists

All aboard the Lady Vengeance, it’s time to join the Apocalypse Squad in Divinity: Fallen Heroes

Larian Studios, in co-production with Logic Artists, has announced a spinoff of Divinity: Original Sin 2 that isn’t quite a sequel, but kind of is, with Divinity: Fallen Heroes.

It’s not a sequel because it’s a different type of game, being a tactical RPG rather than a regular one, but it does continue from Original Sin 2. You get to command the Apocalypse Squad, a team made up of Beast, Fane, Ifan Ben-Mezd, Lohse, The Red Prince, Sebille, and Malady, using strategy to work your way through over 60 missions, on a quest to save Rivellon from hordes of the undead.

Divinity already had a tactics-based combat system, but now it’s more the focus, with decisions to be made about recruiting troops and researching new gear, in addition to levelling up your heroes and fine-tuning their skill trees. Also, there are guns now and a new element to play with, called Sulfurium.

As with previous Divinity games, Fallen Heroes can be played either in single-player or co-op modes, so be prepared to strain your relationships with ill-conceived, elemental AoE attacks. It’s part of Divinity’s charm!

Divinity: Fallen Heroes will be released for PC, and we assume consoles, some time this year.
