That’s according to dataminer ShiinaBR, who discovered code references to “2-man Squads” and “#SOLO_MODE” in the game files, and, I mean, that’s not exactly ambiguous. Unless Respawn is working on two, um, unconventional new classes – 2-man Squads, a grotesque twin science experiment gone wrong, perhaps, and social media recluse and apocalypse prepper sniper #SOLO_MODE.
… I don’t think so either.

Apex Legends launched as a squad-based game and I feel like that’s how it’s supposed to be played, but solo and duo modes are also kind of expected in battle royale games so the addition wouldn’t be unexpected as such. Got to keep up with the competition, I suppose.
