It’s time to talk about Supervive, the new kid on the block who’s already strutting like he owns the neighbourhood. Back in October’s Steam Next Fest, this free-to-play title was the second most-played demo.
As of last night, it’s in Early Access on Steam, and with nearly 30,000 concurrent players at its peak today, it’s making a lot of noise.
But what exactly is Supervive? If video game genres had a messy love child after a wild LAN party, Supervive would be it.
According to its creators, it’s a “MOBA battle royale meets hero shooter.” Translation? Think League of Legends and Fortnite got drunk, invited Overwatch over, and things got…complicated.
The result is a game with a MOBA-style top-down perspective and controls. Still, instead of pushing lanes, you and your two or four-player squad drop into a battle royale map, ready to smack down not just other teams but also minions and bosses scattered across the field like loot piñatas.

The team behind Supervive, Theorycraft Games, comprises former Riot and Blizzard developers, which can only mean good things for the game. The Blizzard influence becomes apparent the second you see the Overwatch-esque character designs.
And the Riot expertise can be felt in how smoothly the launch has been so far. Launching a new competitive multiplayer game is about as stress-free as a Dark Souls speedrun – especially in a year where some games have faceplanted harder than your first Tony Hawk Pro Skater attempt.
But Supervive seems to be avoiding disaster. The game’s demo got solid praise, positive Steam reviews are stacking up faster than a Zerg rush, and Twitch streams are alive with about 48,000 viewers at the time of writing.
Right now, Supervive’s battle royale mode is all about squads: duos or four-player teams. Solo players will have to wait for their chance to shine, with a solo mode teased as a special game mode event on the Steam page.
Beyond the battle royale shenanigans, there’s a 4v4 deathmatch mode for when you feel like smashing faces in a more controlled environment, plus a practice mode for sharpening your skills—or just figuring out how the heck to play without embarrassing yourself.
If Supervive keeps up the momentum, it could become the Apex Legends of MOBA-BR-hero shooter mashups. With its quirky blend of styles and surprisingly deep gameplay, this game isn’t just surviving – it’s thriving.
Now, I want to hear from you. Have you tried out Supervive yet, and if so, what do you think about the game? Let me know in the comments.
