Alright, cyberpunk fans, it’s time to put on your neon-tinted shades and cue the Synthwave – because Neon Blood is here (well, almost) to scratch that gritty, neon-tinged itch with all the style and half the calories of a big-budget RPG.

This 2.5D turn-based adventure RPG feels like Blade Runner met an ’80s arcade game, and they decided to raise a rebel detective together. And to sweeten the deal, the demo delivers a banging soundtrack, eye-catching visuals, and just enough dystopian flavour to make you question whether you’d survive a day in Viridis’s mean streets.

Neon Blood pays homage to the golden days of turn-based combat with some fresh tweaks. Remember those classic turn-based RPGs where strategy was king, and the game let you savour the tension between turns? That’s the vibe here.

As Axel, you’ll gather allies who, like any good squad, are eager to swap banter and throw down when things get dicey. And when the chips are down, you’re free to throw out attacks, use abilities, and unleash an ultimate that puts those glorious pixel animations in full view. You’ll feel every punch, kick, and stylish neon flicker as you strategise to victory.

The game is set in Viridis, a towering metropolis split into two very distinct cities: Bright City, where everyone’s sipping on champagne and riding robot unicycles (I assume), and Blind City, where you’re lucky if your water isn’t sparkling…with rust.

Playing as Axel McCoin, a detective with just enough anti-establishment angst to double as a punk rock lead, you’ll be setting out to do more than solve a few mysteries. Axel’s out to dismantle this system of inequality and light up Viridis in the most rebellious neon glow possible.

The 2.5D visuals are a beautiful blend of hand-drawn pixel art and detailed 3D backgrounds, creating a cityscape that’s as much a character as Axel himself. From the gritty alleys of Blind City to the shimmering high-rises of Bright City, Viridis feels alive – and maybe just a bit angry.

This isn’t a world that’s content to sit back and look pretty. It wants you to dig deeper, talk to every moody citizen, and uncover secrets that might just make you wish you’d stayed at home.

And the music? It’s phenomenal. Imagine cruising through rain-soaked streets, neon lights casting shadows, and a beat that practically drips with cyberpunk vibes. It’s part lo-fi, part high-energy, and 100% on-brand for a game that lets you embrace your inner rebel detective.

BOTTOM LINE:

If you’re looking for a turn-based cyberpunk game that merges retro combat, a thrilling soundtrack, and a bold storyline, then Neon Blood might just be your next obsession.
