Riot Announces Loads of In-Game Arcane Drops As Season Two Approaches

With the second season of Arcane exactly 23 days from airing on Netflix on the 9th of November, Riot has decided to drop some sleek in-game content for all its games to keep the hype train going.

Kicking things off with NAG’s favourite game, League of Legends, Riot will release a few things over the coming months. Ambessa Medarda, the Noxian General who was briefly shown in the first season of Arcane but will be a major player in the second, will be added as a new champion to the core League of Legends game, as well as in Teamfight Tactics, Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra.

Rumour has it that Medarda will be a top lane tank, but with little to no other information officially released by Riot, we’ll have to wait for her to hit the Public Beta Environment to be sure.

In addition to this new tanky general, League of Legends players can expect an Arcane-themed update to the ARAM map featuring Piltovers Bridge of Progress, where Jinx and Ekko battle it out in Arcane season one.

To make things even more exciting, a new Vi skin will be released featuring Vi’s brawler outfit from the latest season two trailer, and Riot will be adding a new skin tier called “Exalted”, which will feature a Jinx skin, allowing players to “experience Jinx’s Arcane story in-game”. There is also a rumoured new Jinx-themed Nexus Finisher, which we imagine will look something like her blowing up the whole place with her coloured grenades.

Wild Rift, the League of Legends mobile version, will also feature a few Arcane-themed minigames and a new Showdown mode. As of yesterday, Singed, Warwick and Heimerdinger will also receive some Wild Rift love. These three characters are teased quite a bit in the upcoming Arcane season.

Team Fight Tactics is getting a Chibi Caitlyn model and Powder, the kid version of Jinx that’s slightly less scary and definitely not as violent. Arcane-themed arenas will also be added to the game, and a new cosmetic type that we’ve yet to hear any official details on.

Even Riot’s other universe, Valorant, will receive an Arcane-themed bundle for players to pick up, although the Arcane Sherrif from season one will remain exclusive.

To finish it all off, 2XKO, Riot’s unfinished fighting game, will also receive a bit of an Arcane update as Jinx receives an updated design.

If you’re a fan of just watching the Arcane series and not playing any of Riot’s games, you may also be interested in some yet-to-be-released season two Arcane merch that Riot will release, featuring various clothing items, Funko’s and more.
