The Return Of Until Dawn? Hayden Panettiere And Peter Stormare Stir Sequel Rumours

Could Until Dawn 2 finally be creeping out of the shadows? Fans have been hoping for a sequel since the original game first slashed its way onto screens, but now it’s seeming more and more like there’s fresh blood in the rumour pool.

Hayden Panettiere and Peter Stormare, two stars of the original game, have dropped some clues that are giving fans serious sequel vibes. Let’s back up a bit. Hayden Panettiere, who plays Sam, casually let slip in an interview:

“Until Dawn has been around for years and years now. I think people love it, and the fact that they’re going further with it says there’s a want for it.”

Cue the internet collectively sharpening its machetes and screaming, “Until Dawn 2 confirmed!” Sure, it could just be a reference to the Until Dawn movie that’s been floating around, but horror fans aren’t known for their patience, or logic, really.

And then Peter Stormare, aka Dr. Hill, decided to throw gasoline on the speculation fire, and he posted a mock newspaper on Instagram with the headline, “Until Dawn Sequel Confirmed With The Remake?” with the fine print reading:

The Return Of Until Dawn? Hayden Panettiere And Peter Stormare Stir Sequel Rumours

“With the new endings added to the remake of Until Dawn, this version may have confirmed long-standing rumours of a continuation of this story in a new game.”

Peter then invited fans to share their theories in the comments, and while it would be easy to dismiss this as the actions of two actors who have said more than they should, both Hayden’s interview and Peter’s post are still up.

And at the end of the day, if Supermassive wasn’t in on the tease, you can bet that post would’ve been buried six feet deep by now. So, is it all a carefully crafted marketing ploy, or have these actors gone rogue with some slasher-level leaks?

Which is where you come in, Until Dawn fans – what do you think? Could we really see the return of Until Dawn in sequel form? More importantly, does the original story even need a follow-up? Let’s hear your theories in the comments. Bonus points if you can craft one that sounds like it belongs in a 90s slasher flick.
