October has arrived, and you know what that means – it’s time to dust off those horror games and dive into some spine-tingling adventures!
This month is packed to the gills with exciting new releases, shiny remasters, and delightful indie gems that will make your heart race (and not just from the jump scares).
So, let’s skip the chit-chat and jump right into the new games that I’m most excited to sink my teeth into this October.

Throne and Liberty
Release Date: 1 October

And just like that, we can finally dive into Throne and Liberty, the MMORPG that has been through more reboots than my old PC. Born as Lineage Eternal in 2011, this game has taken its sweet time to evolve, transforming from a confused toddler into a dashing, cross-platform hero thanks to some serious TLC from NCSoft and Amazon Games.
Throne and Liberty features stunning graphics courtesy of Unreal Engine 4. Get ready to join a sprawling world where you can finally live out your fantasy of conquering dungeons or just sitting back and enjoying a pint.
With the open beta launched in July 2024 and a full release on 1 October, players will have plenty of opportunities to test their might and mayhem while avoiding all the drama of the game’s lengthy development saga. So grab your sword (or controller) and dive into an adventure that’s been in the making longer than your last relationship.
Until Dawn

Until Dawn drops you into the ultimate cabin-in-the-woods horror scenario: an isolated lodge, a snowstorm, and a bunch of bad decisions. As you fumble through quick-time events and scream at characters for going downstairs alone, you’ll face life-or-death choices that can result in, well, some messy outcomes.
With a cast that includes Hayden Panettiere and Brett Dalton, it’s like watching a B-grade horror flick, except you’re in control. Whether your goal is to save everyone or secretly root for the chaos, the game’s revamped Unreal Engine 5 visuals make the terror all the more… pretty.
Kill The Crows

Get ready to dust off your boots and load your revolvers in Kill The Crows, the fast-paced, top-down shooter where one bullet is all it takes to send your enemies to their doom.

With stunning new visuals, terrifying soundscapes, and an over-the-shoulder camera that gets you up close and personal with your nightmares, you’ll experience Silent Hill in ways that will make you wish you hadn’t.
Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred

In Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred, the corruption spreads like an office cold, this time to the jungle region of Nahantu. Players will face an infestation of dark forces and critters big enough to make them rethink that nature retreat.
But fear not; the expansion introduces the Spiritborn class, a jungle warrior who summons fierce Spirit Guardians to claw, smash, and fly their way through enemies.
As if that weren’t enough, there’s a brand-new cooperative dungeon where teamwork and not panicking are key to survival.
Whether swiping with a Jaguar Spirit or smashing with a Gorilla, this expansion will surely deliver Diablo’s signature chaos. It’s time to become the Vessel of Hatred and… maybe invest in bug spray.

Armed with your trusty Morita Assault Rifle, a toolkit, and your hopefully competent teammates, you’ll fight to reclaim planets from the crawling, swarming Bug menace.
Prepare to construct bases, complete side objectives, and watch hundreds of Bugs try to ruin your day, all while you desperately build walls and ammo stations to survive.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard
