Cyberpunk 2077 Meets Superhot: The Mod You Didn’t Know You Needed

Just when you thought Cyberpunk 2077 couldn’t get any more, well, cyberpunk, along comes a mod that cranks the sci-fi meter to 11.

Say hello to the Superhot mod, courtesy of Nexus Mods user jackexe, which turns your Night City experience into an indie gem-style slow-mo playground where time only moves when you do.

Yup, that’s right, you’re about to turn every fight into a scene straight out of The Matrix. Imagine this: you’re walking through the neon-lit streets of Night City, probably debating whether to romance Judy or spend all your eddies on more chrome.

Suddenly, time freezes. No, it’s not another glitch – this time, it’s intentional. With the Cyberpunk Superhot Mode mod, you now control the flow of time. Sprint, and the world zips by like you’re Sonic on Red Bull. Stand still, and it’s like you’ve activated VATS in Fallout, but with less math and more cybernetic style.

“How fast you move determines how fast time moves,” says the mod’s description. Translation: if you’re anything like me, you’ll be toggling this feature mid-battle just to watch those perfect slo-mo headshots.

If Superhot taught us anything, it’s that being the king of time manipulation makes even the most mundane actions feel like they deserve an achievement unlock.

Now, let’s be real. This isn’t Cyberpunk’s first dance with time-manipulating tech. Fans of the game will probably have flashbacks to the Sandevistan cyberware, which lets you slow down time during combat.

But, let’s face it, this mod takes the concept and gives it the full Edgerunners treatment, letting you channel your inner David Martinez, sans the whole ‘becoming a tragic anti-hero’ bit.

And what better time for this mod to drop than on the one-year anniversary of the Phantom Liberty expansion? While the DLC gave us Idris Elba and a whole lot of espionage drama, this mod gives us the gift of sheer chaos.

So, if you’ve already completed all of Night City’s quests, flirted with every romance option, and debated the philosophical implications of Keanu Reeves being in your head, why not spice things up?

But now, in the words of V, it’s time to get to work. Or, in this case, try out a new mod… for work… shhh…
