Somebody help me! PlayStation has just announced its 30th-anniversary edition PS5, and I’m about to be so broke I’ll be licking the same carpet my dog does every day for dinner.
On the 3rd of December in 1994, Sony released the very first PlayStation Console. ow, thirty years later, they are honouring the OG by releasing a few PS5 bundles in the same colourway as the PlayStation 1.
Two bundles will be released with a PS5 console, and most of the peripherals will be sold separately.
The first bundle will contain:
- Limited edition PS5 Digital Edition console with 1TD SSD
- Limited Edition DualSesne wireless controller
- Colour matching Console Cover for a Disc Drive
- Limited Edition Vertical Stand
- Original PlayStation controller-style cable connector housing
- Four PlayStation Shapes cable ties
- PlayStation sticker
- Limited Edition PlayStation Poster (1 of 30 possible designs)
- PlayStation Paperclip

The second bundle will be limited to 12,300 units and contains the newly announced PS5 Pro:
- Limited edition PS5 Pro console with 2TB SSD
- Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller
- Limited Edition DualSense Edge wireless controller
- Limited Edition DualSense Charging Station
- Colour matching Console Cover for a Disc Drive
- Limited Edition Vertical Stand
- Original PlayStation controller-style cable connector housing
- Four PlayStation Shapes cable ties
- PlayStation sticker
- Limited Edition PlayStation Poster (1 of 30 possible designs)
- PlayStation Paperclip

Of course, the main draw to any of these bundles is the grey consoles with matching coloured PlayStation logos, which brings back nostalgic memories of the original PlayStation.
While the prices have not yet been released, we can be sure that the PS5 Pro bundle will be pretty eye-watering, considering the console on its own will come close to the R20,000 mark.
If you aren’t interested in any of the bundles, you can pick up the DualSense wireless controller, DualSense Edge wireless controller, or even the PlayStation Portal separately, each freshly skinned in some old-school swag. Even the boxes look like the original PlayStation one!

The peripherals should be available from select local retailers from the 26th of September, and down here in South Africa, the bundle pre-orders should open on the 10th of October.
Does this entice you to spend your money yet? Or are you still salty about the planned launch price for the PS5 Pro?
