Nintendo Switch 2 Biggest Leak Yet

The biggest Nintendo Switch 2 leak of all time has just hit the internet, and Nintendo fans around the world are in a frenzy.

Twelve images depicting CAD drawings of the proposed Nintendo Switch 2 console have hit Reddit after first being published on a Chinese website by an apparent 3D modelling enthusiast.

It is said that the leaker obtained a shell of the actual Nintendo Switch 2 and then drew up the CAD drawings based on the physical shell that he had in his hands. A few pictures of the actual shell are also shown alongside the CAD drawings.

As the images are not from the Nintendo factory directly, it is warned that readers should take the CAD images with a grain of salt, but, likely, the photos of the actual shell are quite possibly real.

The CAD drawings reveal that the Switch 2 will probably have a push-fit mechanism for its Joycons instead of the rail system we saw in the first iteration of the device. There looks to be an extra USB-C port on the top of the device and one on the bottom for charging, and the screen size is much larger than the original, too, which is assumed to be 8 inches.

However, the images were not the only part of the leak. There is also a model list with the device’s specs.

The model list reveals that Switch 2 packs 12GB of LPDDR5X 7500 RAM, which may not be comparable to a PS5 or Xbox Series X, but it is more than the PS4, the console which the Switch 2 is rumoured to be most comparable to. It also states the device will have 256GB of onboard storage and an HDMI 2.1 compatible port. It will still support NFC for Amiibos, but will include a built-in microphone, perhaps for more interactive gaming, but maybe also for live-chat services while gaming.

The leaks have apparently been confirmed by developers who have had an in-house testing model for developing new games, hence the frenzy.

With all this news now out in the open, many are saying Nintendo need to bite the bullet and make an official announcement as soon as the end of this week, although I think the company may just take the weekend to get all the switches turned on before they do so.
