The First Official Details On The Next Battlefield Game Have Been Revealed

Hold onto your helmets, Battlefield fans – it looks like the franchise is pulling out all the stops for its next chapter!

Vince Zampella, the CEO of Respawn Entertainment, just revealed some explosive news about the next instalment, which promises all the chaos and carnage we’ve been craving.

In an interview with IGN, Zampella spilt… some beans on the upcoming Battlefield, and it’s taking us back to the glory days. By that, we mean that the game will be set in a modern time setting.

That’s right; the franchise is hitting the back-to-basics button, bringing a few fan-favourite features along for the ride.

While we don’t know a lot, what we do know paints an exciting picture indeed:

Classic Battlefield is back, baby! According to Vince Zampella, players should prepare for the signature blend of massive maps, intense firefights, and more vehicles than a multiplayer traffic jam.

And talking about massive, 64-player maps are returning, because what’s Battlefield without a battlefield big enough for chaos? But it’s not so big that the game loses that dense tension.

The class-based system is also returning, so you can again argue with your squad over who gets to play as the medic. On top of this, it also looks like there will be ship-to-ship and helicopter combat, as well as natural disasters like wildfires.

If we want to get into the rumour realm of things, well-known insider Tom Henderson has also “confirmed” that the next Battlefield title will be set in Gibraltar, but there has been no official confirmation as of yet.

But what we do know is that you should start getting ready to mark your calendars. Apparently, the team is aiming for a 2025 release. So far, it looks like Battlefield is gearing up for a return to its roots, and we’re ready to jump in headfirst.
