If you’re one of the few who played and enjoyed Cyberpunk 2077 but wondered how all the vampires and werewolves became mysteriously extinct, well, one solo indie developer has got your back.
A Memory of Eternity is developing a Cyberpunk-style game where vampires and werewolves still roam the underworld, Vampire Syndicate: Gangs of MoonFall. Essentially, it’s the Underworld franchise of movies with a bit of a Cyberpunk twist.
The game hit Kickstarter in 2023 as a top-down CRPG but didn’t take off as the developer had hoped. After a year and a significant overhaul, though, the game is back up on the backing platform, wholly redesigned as an Unreal Engine 5, first and third-person RPG.
A Memory of Eternity says the game will play similarly to “old-school RPGs” but with a modern twist. Inspired by games such as Planescape: Torment and Fallout: New Vegas. The game is also being built for adults from the ground up, featuring a dark story narrative with explicit sexual content.
“Vampires are inherently sexual creatures, and during the course of the game, the player will have ample opportunities for casual sex or pursue long-term romances. Expect explicit sexual content.” says the developer, A Memory of Eternity.
The game has already surpassed its $25,000 funding goal on Kickstarter and has just hit its first stretch goal of $50,000, which will include limited voice acting.
You can check out the pretty long trailer below, showing how much of a massive project the game hopes to be, especially considering that a solo-developer is creating it, but with the Kickstarter going as well as it is already, there may be some hope yet.
You can check out the game Kickstarter here otherwise, head over to the developer’s itch.io page to check out their other games or wishlist Vampire Syndicate: Gangs of MoonFall over on Steam.
