Borderlands 4
Fresh from the colossal failure that is the Borderlands film, Gamescom Opening Night Live kicked off with a sizzling CG trailer tease for Borderlands 4. While we didn’t get a ton of details just yet, the hype is real, and at any rate, it can’t be worse than the movie? Right? Right.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
As we gear up for the October 25th release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, we got a sneak peek at the ‘Most Wanted’ campaign mission. The trailer kicks off with some clever camera work, and things quickly heat up with explosive shootouts, ziplines, and car chases galore.
Civilization VII
As promised, we also got a first look at Civilization VII, and wow, what a massive trailer. Civilization VII is set to launch on February 11, 2025.
Dark and Darker Mobile
Exciting news for mobile gamers. the Steam sensation Dark and Darker is making its way to mobile, and you can pre-register now to see how this fantasy first-person hack-and-slash action translates to on-the-go dungeon crawling.
Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred
We also got to check out the latest story lore trailer for Diablo IV’s brand-new mercenaries. While the gameplay glimpses are just a tease, with most of the trailer showcasing some excellent animated art dioramas, there are some epic battle shots to get excited about at the end.
Goat Simulator Remastered
Here’s a delightful or ridiculous surprise from the evening – Goat Simulator Remastered is officially on the way.
From what we’ve seen, the game looks as quirky and fun as ever, and it’s set to launch later this year.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Gamescom gave us our first look at Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s gameplay. This sequel to Warhorse Studios’ acclaimed RPG brings back all the gritty, immersive medieval action you loved from the first game.
Set once again in 15th-century Bohemia, you’ll step back into the well-worn boots of Henry the blacksmith. The game launches on February 11, 2025, and later today, we’ll be getting a more extensive gameplay premiere for it.
Masters of Albion
Peter Molyneux is back with a bang, unveiling his exciting new game, Masters of Albion. After reuniting with his Fable and Dungeon Keeper team, this open-world god game is brimming with Black and White vibes but with an awesome twist – players will be able to customize everything from buildings to meals and armour.
Monster Hunter Wilds
If you’re not a fan of spiders, you might want to look away from the latest Monster Hunter Wilds trailer, but if you’re a fan of spiders being slain with epic swords – then you don’t want to look away.
The trailer also gives players a sneak peek at the settlement they’ll defend and a thunderous dragon enemy. While we’re still waiting for a specific release date-it’s just 2025 for now; the trailer does show off some seriously juicy monster action.
Monument Valley 3
Monument Valley is making a dazzling return for a third adventure, and I’m already excited. Developed by UsTwo Games in collaboration with Netflix, this new instalment promises to be just as stunning and mind-bending as its predecessors.
Oh, and it will be launching exclusively on Netflix on December 10th.
Path of Exile 2
At last! We finally have the date for the early access release of Path of Exile 2. After a bit of a delay, this free-to-play Diablo-like is gearing up to hit early access on November 15, 2024.
Secret Level
One of the most exciting announcements from opening night is the reveal of Secret Level, Amazon’s new video game-themed anthology TV show from the creators of Love, Death & Robots! – goosebumps!
The show promises an epic mash-up of almost every major game from the last few years. Will it be a hit or turn out to be this year’s Rebel Moon? We’ll find out when it premieres on Prime on December 11th!
Starfield: Shattered Space
It’s no secret that I wasn’t the biggest fan of Starfield. The new buggy vehicle, the Rev-8, should also have been part of the game at launch. Still, regardless, the Shattered Space expansion drops on the 30th of September, and who knows, maybe this is the game’s big turnaround. Time will tell.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2
While we didn’t learn much new information about Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, a new trailer was revealed to get gamers pumped up. It also served as a great reminder that fans can dive into Space Marine 2 early with the Gold and Ultra editions before its September release.
