Have A Spare Half A Million Dollars Lying Around? You Could Be One Of The Top Level Steam Users

According to Steam DB, someone swooped in last week to claim the title of having the highest-level Steam account in the world.

The account user Stasik overtook the long-reigning champ, St4ck, by spending between $500,000 and $700,000 to reach level 5,960.

Not only did Stasik drop mad money on levelling his account but he also boasts multiple rare Counter-Strike skins valued at about $9,000 each.

Also, if you’re wondering why someone would spend house-buying money on levelling up their Steam account, you’re in the same boat as me. Levelling up your Steam profile offers no practical benefits outside of bragging rights for the top power levellers SteamDB tracks.

If this story didn’t seem bizarre enough for you, Stasik’s Counter-Strike 2 inventory is also problematic thanks to a $9,000 “Factory New” M4A1 Howl with stickers arranged on the side to spell out a racial slur – something that could quickly put the account at risk of a permanent community ban,

Which brings me to my point, I guess? Which is just, but why? If, like me, you can’t wrap your head around all this crazy, then leave me a comment—who knows, maybe it will level up your NAG profile… for free…
