Forza Motorsport now support Logitech G Trueforce

Ladies and gentlemen, start your force feedback-enabled steering wheels.

Forza fans have a reason to celebrate this weekend, as Logitech just announced that its Trueforce technology has been integrated into the Forza franchise of games.

For the uninitiated, this means that if you have a Logitech G923 Racing wheel, you’ll now be able to experience force feedback in Forza.

A crash course on sim racing wheels is ahead. Brace yourself: There are three main types of steering wheel technologies on the market, direct drive, belt-driven, and gear-driven. High-end sim racing fans usually opt for direct or belt-driven racing wheels, but these are expensive and usually require a lot more configuration right out of the box. Logitech’s G923 is a gear-driven steering wheel that has hit the sweet spot in terms of price versus performance – it’s the one we use here at the NAG office.

Driving the Logitech G923 gears is the company’s Trueforce technology and its impressive stuff. Trueforce connects directly with in-game physics and audio to deliver haptic feedback while you drive. This includes road surfaces, the rumble of the car’s engine, tyre slip and drifting, to name a few. Logitech says that its Trueforce engine can update game data for haptic feedback up to 4,000 times per second, meaning you’ll feel it the instant your wheel hits the gravel.

Trueforce technology is currently only available on Logitech’s G923 racing wheel for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Racing games that support Trueforce include Asseto Corsa, Grid, Snow Runner, Dirt Rally 2.0, and Gran Turismo Sport. The reason there’s only a limited number of games that support Trueforce is that Logitech works with each game developer to ensure accurate feedback based on the conditions in-game. This ensures that all game feedback is optimised for the Logitech G923 steering wheel.

Support for Trueforce has launched with the latest Forza Motorsport update and is ready for gamers to enjoy right now.
