S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a cult classic survival-horror FPS game that is so good people still play it to this day, 15 years after the last DLC was created. So when news of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was released back in 2018, fans were gushing at the thought.
After years of delays due to real-life wars and in-game polishing, the game’s final release date is, hopefully, the 20th of November this year.
To keep our palettes wet, GSC Game World just released a 35-minute deep-dive of the game, featuring one of the many quests that will be available to players. Unless you’ve recently brushed up on your Ukrainian, don’t forget to enable subtitles.
The deep dive gives us a stunning view of the vast freedom that GSC Game World hope to deliver in its massive world. While the quest mainly features the swamp area of the world, they say there are 20 unique environments, each with its architecture, anomalies and inhabitants, detailed enough to be a game on their own.
The game promises to be challenging yet rewarding, just like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. of old, and even with 35 different weapons and a multitude of attachments for each, players will need to learn the environment and its inhabitants to make it through each quest successfully.
With just a few months left before the game releases on Steam, Xbox and Xbox Game Pass, will you be diving into the Chornobyl Exclusion zone on day one just like us?
