Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark Tool Just Released

Late last week, we were given the final trailer for Black Myth: Wukong, which had us salivating at the thought of diving into the game when it launches on the 20th of August. In the post, we listed the recommended specs for the game, which didn’t seem too hefty.

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-9700 / AMD Ryzen 5 5500
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 / AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT / INTEL Arc A750
  • Storage: 130GB

This morning, Game Science launched a Black Myth: Wukong benchmark tool that can more accurately calculate how well the game will run on your PC. Of course, the fine print states that the benchmark tool and actual gameplay may vary depending on specific in-game scenarios, but it’s still a good enough representation.

I ran the tool on my Huawei Matebook X Pro 2024 Core Ultra 9 model, and the benchmark ran smoothly.

There is no GPU in the Matebook X, though, so there was a prominent red notice warning me that my 0GB VRAM was a bit too low. However, an average framerate of 39 FPS reveals that the Matebook X is basically a Nintendo Switch, but still leaves us confident that the game has been well-optimised.

Testing it on some proper gaming rigs obviously gave much better results. The big boss’s PC scored an average FPS of 77 with all settings pushed to “high”.

The benchmark tool is currently sitting at number 18 on Steams most played list, just showing how excited we all are to play as the Monkey King next week.
