Kratos graced our screens for the first time almost twenty years ago when God of War dropped on the PlayStation 2 console. Since then, Santa Monica Studios has worked on nothing but the God of War franchise, releasing sixteen different titles.
Then, a few months ago, rumours emerged that Cory Barlog was working on a new sci-fi IP for the studio that would take us to new and different worlds.
After a bit of silence, it has now come up that Santa Monica Studios has hired a Character Supervisor to “look after the entire Character Development pipeline on their new unannounced project.”
This comes from the About section of the new Character Supervisor, Glauco Longhi’s LinkedIn page, which has been slightly altered since the rumour was posted on ResetEra.

Apparently, the original About section read “new IP” instead of “unannounced project,” and all screenshots of the original LinkedIn page have been scrubbed from the ResetEra forum.
Either way, all this hubbub floating around the internet clearly points to one thing: Santa Monica Studios is most definitely, without a doubt, one hundred per cent guaranteed to be working on a new IP. (Don’t quote me on that, though.)
Do you have any ideas of what the team are cooking up behind the scenes? Let us know what you think will come from the God of War studios in the coming months.
