While you might think that the upcoming 1 August release of the NAG Winter Edition is all you have to look forward to this week, you’d be wrong. Believe it or not, World of Goo 2, the sequel to a game by the same name that was released way back in 2008, is coming our way on 2 August.
To celebrate the release, the developers have just released a brand new trailer for the game so that gamers old enough to shop for retirement villages can start getting excited about this blast from the past.
If you don’t start your morning off by opening a day-of-the-week pill container, then you might not know what World of Goo is, so for you:
World of Goo is a game in which players must snatch up little balls of goop and use them to form increasingly unwieldy constructions to get said little balls of all things to the end of the level. It’s very much a game of its time—which is to say that it’s fun, pure and simple.
Okay, now that we’re all caught up, the newly released trailer showcases all kinds of weird and wonderful stuff in the game’s signature strange yet cute yet upsetting style. However, that’s not to say that World of Goo 2 isn’t bringing some new to the fold.
From what we can see in the trailer, the action is smoother, and players can manipulate the goo in ways that they could only dream of back in the early 2000s. When the game is released, it will be available for PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch.
