After More Than 11 Years Or 3,878 Days, 7 Days To Die Has Finally Released

At this point, you’d be hard-pressed to find a PC gamer who hasn’t heard of the zombie survival game 7 Days to Die. After all, it has been in most of our Steam libraries for over 11 and a half years.

But as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait, and 7 Days to Die has officially graduated out of Early Access and been released into the big bad gaming world.

The official release adds some new high-definition character models, a new player armour and clothing system, new animal models, and a new challenge system to replace tutorials and quests.

There are also new vehicle models, improvements for randomly generated worlds, over 75 new points of interest to explore, new zombie model variants, tweaks to character progression, and a lighting update.

For those of you who don’t already know, 7 Days to Die was first released into Early Access back in December 2013. At the time, the idea of a first-person zombie survival crafting game in a sandbox world where everything was designed to be destructible and players could build anywhere was novel and exciting.

The game has been in its pre-release state for so long that it was released by a defunct game publisher, Telltale, on a console generation that’s no longer current, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

But the point of this post was to celebrate 7 Days to Die, which is releasing before I reach retirement age—something I didn’t see coming. If you want to check out 7 Days to Die for yourself, follow the link here.
