I don’t think anyone reading this has ever found themselves watching an action/ martial arts movie and not wanted to experience the thrill of those perfectly choreographed fights for themselves.
While many games have promised players that unique type of thrill, few, if any, have ever been able to truly deliver on that promise—until now, hopefully.
In the early hours of this morning, while many of us were peacefully sleeping, Devolver was making waves at BitSummit when they unveiled Forestrike.
From what we’ve seen so far, Forestrike will put players into the role of a novice martial artist who is speaking to liberate their country from the clutches of an evil admiral—so basically, it’s your stock standard Kung Fu movie setup.
What makes Forestrike visually exciting is that players will find themselves outnumbered in almost every brawl. To get any advantage, payers must use Foresight, a clairvoyance that lets players see into the future to play out the fight and prepare the perfect strategy in advance.
Forestrike is a high-octane puzzle action game in which players must find the best sequence of strikes and dodges to not only survive but also consistently outperform their foes.
While Forestrike isn’t quite the game I’d normally gravitate towards, its unique future-seeing / mind-palace mechanic is more than enough to intrigue me and excite me to try it out for myself.
Are you excited for Forestrike? Let me know in the comments.
