Dolphin, an emulator seemingly unafraid to cross the dangerous line by allowing gamers to enjoy the forbidden Nintendo GameCube and Wii titles, is about to get even better.
For those who don’t know, Dolphin is an emulator that first broke into the scene in 2016. Not only have they managed to avoid Nintendo’s wrath since then, but they’ve also steadily improved the software in the years since.
Today, one of the most requested features is being rolled out to Dolphin users – integration with RetroAchievements. RetroAchievements is a community-driven project that adds Steam-style achievements to older games.
As of writing, the integration currently supports over 100 games from the GameCube library, which overwhelmed RetroAchievements’ servers, causing them to crash. This is even more crazy when you consider that this is only the added traffic from GameCube games because Wii games are only planned to come in future updates.
But now I want to know whether you have given Dolphin a spin. Let me know in the comments.
