If you enjoy board games and/or strategy/deck-building games and have yet to lose all your free time to the digital version of Dune: Imperium, you’re missing out. The board game was excellent, and the digital adaptation managed to capture that magic perfectly to the point that it’s now even getting the Rise of Ix expansion.
For those who aren’t in crippling board game debt, the Rise of Ix expansion expands on the original game by adding in six new leaders, new spaces on the board, and even Dreadnoughts to help players in their struggle for Arrakis.
The expansion also adds infiltrators, which basically lets players try to figure out what their opponents are up to. On top of all this epicness, developer Dire Wolf has also announced that cross-platform play will be coming to the game later this year.
The Rise of Ix expansion is expected to be released on Steam towards the end of July, and if you still need to play the base game and this news inspired you to, you can follow the link to the game’s Steam page here.
