…Public Beta.
Sorry, I ran out of characters for the header.
Saber Interactive has posted on Steam that they will cancel the online public beta for Space Marine 2, as they don’t want to remove focus from the team as they approach their 9th of September release date.
Space Marine 2 is almost ready. We are now entirely focused on optimization, polish and fixing remaining issues ahead of launch on September 9. This means we will not run a public online beta, as it would take the development teams away from preparing for the full launch, and our priority is to ensure the best possible experience at release.
To help curb the angry mobs, anyone who was registered for the public beta before the 28th of June will receive a free skin, Porphyr Shield Bolt Pistol, for their Bolt Pistols when the game launches.
It’s not all doom and gloom for the Space Marines, though, as Saber INteractive also showed off a 6-minute gameplay trailer featuring three of the game’s upcoming gameplay modes:
There will be a 12-hour campaign mode in which the player takes on the role of Lieutenant Titus. You will fight alongside some of your Battle Brothers against Tyranids and Chaos and unravel some of the Warhammer 40K lore.
An Operations mode features endless PvE gameplay where you can partner up with some of your mates or take the enemy on solo.
The third mode, Eternal War, pits teams of 6 against each other in three classic multiplayer game modes: Annihilation (or Team Death Match), Seize Ground (or Domination), and Capture and Control (or King of the Hill).
While some may be sad to miss the public beta, it seems like all squadrons are moving forward to ensure that Space Marine 2 is as finely polished and epic as it should be on launch day. Just as epic as that sneaky little clickbait title was.
