Assassin’s Creed fans have much to look forward to after an interview with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot went live on the Ubisoft website last night.
Amongst the typical plans for the future questions surrounding Ubisoft and their focus on Action Adventure RPG titles, like Assassin’s Creed and Star Wars Outlaws, Guillemot was asked what the future looks explicitly like for the Assassin’s Creed franchise once Shadows enters the sunlight.
Of course, there is the already teased Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe, which seems to be set in 1600s Europe where which-hunts were the daily grind, but Guillemot also said that the team is working hard on some of the much older games as remakes.
Players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them; there are worlds in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still extremely rich. – Yves Guillemot
This may crack open some of the more linear games that were initially released in the early 2000s and give players more to dig through in those worlds. Perhaps even answer a few unanswered questions from the series, too.
Guillemot also said that fans can expect to see more regular releases from the franchise, but not something that is the same every year. Whether this means completely different games set in the Assassins Creed universe or just bouncing between the more open-world gameplay style from games like Valhalla and the more linear games like the original game is yet to be confirmed.
Either way, with Shadows coming in November and the promise of all these remakes, it looks like a good time to be part of the Brotherhood.
Which game would you like to see be remade first? Let us know in the comments.
