The first game that pops up if you ever had to Google “Best Tactics Game” has been, and for years to come, will probably still be Final Fantasy Tactics. While others have tried and had varying degrees of success, like Tactics Ogre or even the more recent Triangle Strategy, there’s just something about the 1997 game that ticked all the boxes.
Now, almost three years after a leak from an Nvidia database showed that we might actually get a Final Fantasy Tactics remake, Jason Schreier, a reporter from Bloomberg, has confirmed that the game is “real and happening” on a subreddit.
The initial replies to the comment on the GamingLeaksAndRumours came with a bit of scepticism, but once everyone noted the user who actually posted it, the tone quickly changed to celebratory.
I myself can’t wait for the remake, and a 2D-HD version of the game might just be the perfect graphical update connecting the old to the new, but the last time we heard anything about FFT: Remake was in 2021, so I’m taking this information with a pinch of salt.
Does the news of a remake of the popular tactics game excite you as much as it does me? Let me know your thoughts on the game in the comments below.
