Thermaltake On the Case at Computex 2024

While walking through Computex, it’s quite easy to spend a good amount of time at each of the booths showing off all their latest tech, gadgets and gizmos, but with a stand as large as Thermaltake’s stuffed to the brim with quite literally dozens of killer case mods, cooling systems and racing simulators, you could have bet money that the time spent there was more than just good.

Embellishing the edges of the booth were simulators, with excited fans of racing and flying games alike pouring over each other to check out the GR500 Racing Cockpit Simulator, announced earlier this year. Deeper into the booth was where the real excitement hid, though, as just beyond the fog of burnt-out, simulated rubber lay some of Thermaltakes most impressive case designs and cooling technology.

Not only were cases tricked out with cool colour palettes, but some had custom accessories to complete the look, and others were even flipped onto their sides, giving us a different perspective on what a PC chassis could really be.

As an avid Thermaltake Tower chassis fan, I had tingles racing up and down my spine as we walked through Thermaltake’s booth at Computex this year.

Here are some of the hottest products from the booth:

GR500 Racing Cockpit Simulator:

Thermaltake has entered the simulation game by providing simulator fans with a high-end, adjustable rig with a few RGB lights to boot. The comfortable bucket-style seat can be adjusted in depth for extra leg room, height for easier access to the seat, and even angle, providing the perfect simulated experience. It comes with many accessories allowing you to attach your steering wheel, gear shifter, pedals or even a joystick, making it customisable enough to fit your preferred game. What was really eye-catching, though, was that Thermaltake created a “Snow” edition featuring all-white tubing and an all-white seat for those who prefer a certain aesthetic.

CTE 550 TG Series Chassis:

The CTE 550 TG Series Chassis, which packs many new features inside, was announced at Computex this year. Similarly to the CTE 500 we reviewed earlier in the year, this chassis features a rotated motherboard design. The roasted design achieves a much better cooling profile than the standard we are used to, and it places the ports on top of the case instead of in the rear. It also supports the new “rear mount” motherboards that have been popping up lately and has a dual chamber design. All of this combined means you’ll be hard-stuck trying to find a case that looks cleaner than the CTE 550 TG.

MagForce 2.0 Cooling Fans:

Of course, there would be cooling at the Thermaltake stand and lots of it, especially fans featuring an updated version of their MagForce range. Thermaltake updated a few of its existing fan lines to incorporate the magnetic connection technology we saw in the SWAFAN earlier this year. MagForce 2.0 features a slightly updated connector for a more secure connection, and both the CT and TOUGHFAN ranges that we all know and love now come with this updated, cable-free tech. Looks like my chassis may need a cool update.

The Tower Series Chassis:

The Tower Series from Thermaltake has been the choice of PC enthusiasts who have enjoyed showing off their custom builds for years, and at Computex this year, it was no different. From Buzz Lightyear to Matcha to powder-pink, it was all on display at the Thermaltake booth. Yet the simple act of turning the Tower on its side this year opened up a whole new book of ideas. Whether it was a stunning Snow Edition Tower 300 turned on its side with blue lighting effects, making it look like a life-pod or the addition of a rusted patina and a few extra LCD screens giving off that Pip-Boy swag, it’s clear to me that the Tower Series Chassis range is still taking names when it comes to killer PC design.

25th Anniversary Colourway:

This year, Thermaltake reaches its 25th year of creating PC peripherals and components for the gaming and creator market, and to celebrate, they’ve announced a new, fashion-forward colourway that can be found on various products. The stunning Hydrangea Blue colourway can be found on chassis, from the Tower to Thermaltakes CTE and Ceres ranges, as well as power supplies, RAM modules, case fans, AIO coolers, mousepads and even their Argent E700 leather gaming chair. With a full range of products available in this new colour, it will be quite easy to update your gaming room aesthetic and add a stylish pop of colour.
